Meet the Doula Team
The Genesis doula team includes our Genesis pelvic floor therapists: Lakin Vaughn, MOT, OTR and Dr. Jen Holt, PT, DPT.
Both Lakin & Jen are certified doulas, and have a passion for serving women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Being pelvic floor therapists gives them a special perspective to the pelvis and body throughout labor and birth. Lakin & Jen serve throughout the DFW metroplex.

Occupational Therapist & Birth Doula
Lakin received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with minors in psychology and business, from Abilene Christian University. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch. After her own pregnancy and the birth of her son, she became passionate about helping women due to the serious gap in care regarding pelvic health. Lakin has worked largely in acute care where she is an advocate for women’s health, and has implemented post-partum pelvic floor therapy as part of the routine hospital stay. She also teaches birth prep classes to better help prepare women for both labor and the post-partum journey. She is excited to be able to expand her experience into helping women outside of the hospital, as well. Lakin is also a certified birth doula!Learn more about Lakin!
